'Tis the season
The Philippines has the official longest religious celebration of any nation (this is at least what they would like to claim, I have not checked it myself).
The first of September marks the start of the bermonths (September, October, November, December), four months of holiday season/christmas celebration.
The first day is celebrated by playing christmas carols on the radio, but then it slows down a bit. This year they didnt start to play "Come all ye faithful" in the supermarket until 19th Spetember. I bit disappointing, but, yes, I know it by heart by now.
